Lachie Neale’s tattoo record includes swallows he has linked to home, plus a Brisbane Lions emblem marked 2024. October 2026 footage from Ten/Ten Tattoo Studio shows stencils for 2025 and 2026 being measured around the existing design. It documents the planned update, though not whether every new line had been permanently tattooed.
The 2026 premiership tattoo update
PerthNow reported Neale’s visit to Ten/Ten Tattoo Studio in Brisbane. The studio images show the Lions emblem above 2024, with stencils for 2025 and 2026 laid out around it. The report names tattooist Rhys Sharp and describes the new years as planned additions.
In the wide photograph, Neale stands with Sharp and holds a Collingwood jumper. The image also shows his existing arm tattoos and exposed lower legs, placing the session in context without implying that every part of his collection is part of the new design.

The added years would record three consecutive premiership seasons during Neale’s Brisbane period, before his move to Collingwood. PerthNow also notes an “F” stencil that may refer to his son Freddie; that explanation remains a reported possibility, not a confirmed account from Neale.
The swallows tattoos that represent home
Neale has a pair of swallows on his left upper arm. In a 2023 Grandstand AFL interview, he said the birds represent home, whether he is thinking of his wife and daughter or his family in South Australia. Swallows also have a long maritime history as a sign of a sailor’s safe return.
That meaning comes from Neale himself. The swallows connect to family and home; the Lions emblem records a team and its premiership years.

The official AFL portrait shows one swallow clearly on the upper arm, with other linework continuing toward the elbow. Wider photographs reveal more of the arm but don’t identify every smaller mark.
What his older arm tattoos show
AAP and AFL photographs show separate pieces across Neale’s upper arms and forearms, including bird imagery, script-like lines and smaller symbols. The swallows are the clearest identified design; the available sources don’t give a full list or meaning for every mark.
The images offer different views. In the square AFL portrait, his arm is turned toward the camera; in the AAP photograph, his folded arms and clothing partly obscure the ink. Together they show the tattoos in more than one setting, but neither is a complete inventory.

There is open skin between some of the designs, so the arm doesn’t read as one continuous blackout sleeve. The Lions emblem adds to an existing collection rather than marking Neale’s first tattoo.
What the visible tattoo photos can and cannot prove
PerthNow’s October 2026 report identifies the Brisbane Lions emblem, its existing 2024 date, the proposed 2025 and 2026 stencils, the Brisbane studio and Sharp. The possible “F” tribute to Freddie is qualified in the report and shouldn’t be stated as Neale’s confirmed explanation.
A stencil shows intended placement, not necessarily the final healed tattoo. The studio photos capture a session and the proposed layout; they don’t establish that the finished design was applied exactly as shown.
The action photograph below gives another view of the swallows and surrounding arm work. It helps show how they appear in a game setting, while the studio image documents the separate premiership update.

A grounded visual record of tattoos
Each photo adds a different view: the studio session shows the planned Lions update; the official AFL portrait makes the swallows easy to see; AAP and match photographs show the arm ink from other angles. The separate featured portrait provides a face-visible image of Neale but isn’t used as evidence for a tattoo.
The meaning is clearer for some pieces than others. Neale has connected the swallows to home and family. The Lions emblem and years mark his Brisbane premierships. The “F” remains uncertain, and the other visible marks are best described without assigning them meanings he hasn’t supplied.
The timeline from Brisbane to Collingwood
The existing 2024 emblem points to Neale’s Brisbane career. The stencils shown in October 2026 would add 2025 and 2026, extending the record across three consecutive premiership seasons before his move to Collingwood.
The chronology is documented; the final tattoo layout remains to be confirmed by later photographs or Neale himself. For now, the record is an existing 2024 design and a studio visit where two more years were prepared as stencils.
Sources and documented tattoo details
PerthNow’s October 2026 report covers the Ten/Ten studio visit, Sharp, the existing emblem and the proposed year additions. It also recounts Neale’s earlier explanation of the swallows from Grandstand AFL in 2023. Official Brisbane Lions and AFL photographs, AAP and 7NEWS show the established arm tattoos from separate angles.
Those sources support a measured account: Neale has described the swallows as a link to home and family, and studio footage shows a plan to extend his Lions premiership tattoo beyond 2024. The “F” interpretation and the final state of the new lines remain unconfirmed.
